16 August 2023 – Family Visit Week Three

On Thursday we went to the Family Park in Calpe

This is a permanent fun fair for young children to teenagers

We have happy memories of spending an evening there last year

And tonight was equally enjoyable

Despite the age range from 7 to 17 they all seemed to enjoy themselves

The grownups just admired all of their energy

Stuart did a series of “then and now” photos of their visit over the years

On Friday we all had a meal at Restaurant Pepe in Alcalali

It was Stuart and Michelle’s first visit to this popular restaurant

It was busy as always, so just as well that we booked in advance

Georgia and Chloe spotted the play area as we arrived

And had frequent visits to the slide between courses

On Tuesday we took the children to the Jalon play area to unwind

We had planned a take away burger from Dockers, but they were closed

As was most of Jalon due to one of many festivals

Fortunately Pizzeria Cupricco opened just as we were about to leave

Refreshed and full of energy again the children wanted to go to the play area

Where Jan worried about Chloe on the assault course

Wednesday was our favourite Chino Imperial in Calpe

Stuart and Michelle like it so much that this was their third meal there this visit

9 August 2023 – Family Visit Week Two

 

Georgia’s 13th birthday was on 3 August

Stuart and Michelle had brought all of her presents with them

There were enough to cover the dining room table

The birthday cake was sourced locally

It is hard to believe that she is a teenager now

Nanny and Granddad had not dressed for the occasion

In the afternoon they all went to Terra Mitica as part of her birthday treat

Georgia choose it as her favourite day out 

Mum and dad also enjoyed themselves

Next day was they went to Javea

Where a very grown up Jack posed in the sea

They visit Javea a lot because Jack particularly likes a take away only available there.

Chloe, like most children, is always happy with a bucket and space on the beach.

Apparently teenagers also enjoy digging on the beach.

7 August 2023 – Walking Group Meal

We had our midsummer meal at L’Era in Parcent

22 signed up for the meal

But two couples cancelled just days before

 

Fortunately the restaurant agreed to change the booking - twice

So there were 18 of us on the day

Not as many as last year, but summer is always difficult with other commitments

Despite the recent hot weather we walked down from the house

As always the restaurant was fully booked and crowded

Everyone arrived early, so we were able to start on time

We had two very large paella pans, and both were quite empty at the end

14 of us walked down to the cooperativa for coffee (or something stronger)

The noise level was very high in L’Era

But much quieter on the terrace at the cooperativa

It was a nice way to end off the day

We really enjoyed meeting up and swopping summer tales
