Low cloud and quite chilly as we left Gata
We were not aware that they had changed the one way system in the town
Where we always turned right to park at the post office is now no entry
I carried on and found an alternative way to the car park
The rest of the group didn’t notice the no entry sign and were waiting for me
The sun soon cleared the low cloud away, though it remained hazy
The lower temperatures made for much better walking conditions
Particularly when we started to climb Tossal del Moro
Roger and Jacqueline went ahead and waited for us at the top
The rest of us climbed up at our own pace
And were greeted with bright sunshine at the cairn on the summit
We had a well deserved picnic break at the top
And enjoyed the fantastic, though hazy, views
Surprised to find quite a lot of butterflies around
The track down requires a lot of attention
But it was then a gentle downhill walk t o Gata
With occasional stops to explore abandoned finca
We did a short detour to Font Moli
But we soon chilled in the shade away from the sun
So we cut our planned 15 minute break short
Temperature – 18 to 20c
Time taken – 5.5 hours
Distance – 12 km
Total Ascent – 474 metres
