20 on today’s walk
Fortunately 7 more were unable to walk today, mostly due to visitors
It was good to welcome Barry and Linda back
Plus Robin and Sandra
Barry was on good form and gave me a hard time
I think he has been preparing himself during his time in the UK
But he did distribute expensive British sweets during the picnic break
He was very disappointed that we arrived at the bar 3 minutes early
At present there are 20 resident members
Plus another 18 non resident members (“the swallows”)
At this time of year “the swallows” start to return for the winter sun
Today there were 6 “swallows”
With four more due during October
It is good that the membership has grown so well
And we would consider them all friends and not want to deny them a walk
But we will have to stop new members until things quieten down a little
I have accepted that there will have to be an easing of the 12-16 limit on each walk
And the banter on today’s walk was excellent despite the larger than normal numbers
It is very rewarding to see how easily “the swallows” mix with the resident members
And how the regular walkers are so pleased to see them again
Parcent cooperativa was closed again
But Siremar was a very acceptable alternative
Temperature – 17 to 29c
Time taken – 3 hours
Distance – 9 km
